Backup software for Linux?

Hi,
any suggestions for a user friendly, reliable backup software?
I need to backup two Suse Linux machines regularly (a desktop at work
and a laptop, I'd like to keep them in perfect sync). I want to do
backups on an external USB disk, and use it to keep the two machines in
sync.

I also need to backup separately a Windows partition on another
external USB disk, so I prefer a backup system that works both with
Windows XP and Linux, for simplicity.

I'm a user with no time for messing around with complicated solutions.
Someone suggested Backuppc to me. Is this a good, simple solution? Is
it overkill?

thanks a lot.

Thanks. Would you recommend it over BackupPC?

Also, is the following backup strategy good? The idea is:
- sync disk1 (desktop linux box) with disk2 (removable USB disk)
- syns disk2 with disk3 (laptop)
This way disk1 and 3 are always in sync, and I have disk2 for backup.

man rsync. I use it all the time to backup my computers.

Unfortunately, I don't know BackupPC. Unison is python-based -- it'll work
without recompilation anywhere, where python is present (e.g. your flash disk).

Yes, this should work.
