Availble wireless networks in Windows XP shows no networks but works on other wireless networks

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 with a Dell TrueMobile 1300 mini-pci card.
On one of my wireless networks it picks up the network about 30
seconds after booting up. On my network at home with a D-link
WAP/Router it will not find the network even though 3 other laptops
work fine off it. One of the laptops does have the same card as mine
as well. Does anyone know why sometimes you'll find the wireless
network right away, sometimes it taking a minute, and in this case
never finds it at all? What can I do? This is using Windows xp home
edition and all of the laptops are new Dell Inspirons. Thanks, Eric

If your home router doesn't send its SSID in beacons, and your laptop
doesn't do an active scan for the SSID you are looking for, it may not show
up in the site survey. Other laptops you have may be doing active scans for
the SSID you want, so they "see" the net. See the following URL for
