The wireless hardware in question is an Actiontec Gateway at my office and a
Microsoft Wireless-G Notebook Adapter [MN-720]. For the record, I have the
same Gateway at home and the combination works fine. For whatever reason,
the MN-720 does not see the available wireless network in the office setting.
I confirmed in the Advanced Setup for the Gateway that the broadcast of the
SSID is Enabled. That has been confirmed with four other wireless laptops.
The MN-720 also does not connect even though I have configured the adapter
for the WEP secured connection with the requisite Key. At home I have the
adapter configured for the WPA security level. Can anyone tell me why I
cannot even "see" the network, when this laptop/adapter seems functional in
all other settings, i.e. hotspots locally as well as when I travel?
