Hi,
I know of several people including myself, who have had difficulties
getting various broadband packages installed and functioning.
Can anyone tell me if there are specialist expert installers generally
available throughout the UK, how effective they are and how expensive
they are to use?
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,

I am sure you would find that your local mobile PC / IT repair technician is
able to help you out.

One of the things I often help with is the installation of Broadband
packages on PC's which are reluctant to take them.

Most problems seem to come from the installation of USB ADSL Modems,
especially the Alcatel 330 or the BT Voyager 100 / 105.

Check your local Yellow Pages, Newspaper and similar for their adverts.

Avoid larger chain shops as they will often charge a fortune to walk through
their doors.

On the basis that you are looking for someone in the Pembrokeshire, West
Carmarthenshire or South Ceredigion areas, I would be able to help.

Kind Regards

Thanks for the info and offer Simon. If I lived in the same country as
you, I'd call you first every time.
AS BT already play some part in the installation process, I wonder how
advisable it would be to ask them to do the rest?
Could they? Would they?

Not without some costs, possibly large & that's if you could even get it
done. It would be far better for you to get one of your 'geek' friends to
do it for you...

I don't usually like to admit being so peculiar as to have any of
those.
