Hi everyone

I need help

We have just replace our old W2K domain. We installed two new servers.

This is how i did it :

The first server : I ran dcpromo and choose new domain in a new forest. I
named the domain sup.companyname.local. Installed DHCP, DNS and WINS. Created
all the users of the support team in AD.

The second server : Ran dcpromo and made it a new domain in an existing
forest. I named that domain dev.companyname.local. Installed DHCPm DNS and
Wins. Created all of the users of the dev team in AD.

Now, i what certain users of the sup.companyname.local to access shares on
the dev.companyname.local. It doesn't work. I then created these users in the
other domain. Not working either...

On the PC's in the sup team, the DNS servers are 192.168.100.1
(sup.companyname.local) and 192.168.100.2 (dev.companyname.local).

I did reverse the dns on the sup team PC (192.168.100.2 - 192.168.100.1)

And it is still not working.

What am I missing ?

Nick

No specific error message

Only that users from dev.companyname.local can connect to
sup.companyname.local server. But users from sup.companyname.local server
cannot connect to the dev.companyname.local server !

It prompts us for a username and a password. On both AD, these specific
users are created...

what are putting in for credentials? Something like
(E-Mail Removed)l What are you seeing in the event logs? You
should see authentication failures of some sort.

The only thing i see, is when i try to connect to the server to see the
shares, it prompts me for a user name and a password.

In AD the accounts are created but i see @dev.companyname.local on one AD
and @sup.companyname.local on the other one.

But users on dev.companyname.local can see and use the shares...

Turn on auditing.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...467853978.mspx

Make a few failures and then tell us what is in the event logs.
