Automating WEP for new wireless router

Hi,
I have just installed a new wireless gateway (Actiontec) - my wife uses it
for her Mac (she installed it) and I am using on my PC. The gateway/router
works fine, except that I have to type in the 13 digit WEP to connect each
time. I have tried going to the Properties for the Wireless Connection in
Network Connections but I can't see anything there that allows me to save the
WEP and have it entered automatically so that my laptop just connects to the
network when I boot up, without me having enter the WEP manually.
I'm sure I am missing something very obvious - can anyone help?
Thanks,
WillCaz.

For starters, don't use WEP...

Fabulous, but cryptic. Can you elaborate?

WEP can be broken in less than 2 minutes and gives you a false sense
of security. Use WPA2-Personal or at least WPA. If your brand new
router does not support anything better than WEP, replace it with
one that does.

What Windows OS are you using? What wireless in what laptop?
You haven't given enough info for anyone to really do much else than
guess as to what is going on.
