automatically re-establish a lost network connection - Win98

Occassionally a mapped resource becomes unavailable for a short period of
time and consequently, the mapped drive letter has a red X as seen from file
explorer. The lost mapped drive is easily re-established by simply clicking
on it in file explorer, however, an always running program that requires
access to this mapped drive on the network will fail unless an operator
manually re-establishes the connection.

How can I automatically re-establish a lost network connection.

Try disabling autodisconnect as shown in this article ... note that the fix
needs to be applied to the server, not to the client; you may have to reboot
the client, not the server, once applied.
