automatic start

I have a laptop running windows xp connected to a desktop running widows
98SE via a crossover cable. The laptop is the master. Sometimes, when I
start the laptop, the desktop will start automatically and sometimes it
wont. Is there a setting somewhere where I can select or deselect automatic
start? Thanks.

Sounds like Wake on Lan to me, if you dont like it, there should be a
setting on your Desktop Computer, go to BIOS Setup on the desktop machine,
and dissable WOL-->> save and exit... I think thats what it is but I could
be wrong...wait for flame if so... lol
