Hi Norman!
Even if you have your Mac authenticating to AD, I don't believe you'll
have the automatic login to all network resources that you're expecting.
For example, when accessing the Internet, you may still have to
authenticate to connect even after logging in to your Mac.
If you're the lone Mac in your organization or one of few, you may want
to look into a third party solution such as ADmitMac to integrate your
Mac with AD. It's not free but it's a much simpler solution than what it
takes set up a Mac to AD.
If you'd prefer not to use ADmitMac you can begin your research at
<http://www.apple.com> by searching for "Active Directory" from the
homepage. You'll see a few PDFs that can give you an idea of what it
takes. You can also refer to sites like <http://www.macosxlabs.org>.
