Authentication through VPN

I'm having a problem with my laptop users accessing
resources through our VPN (WatchGuard, not windows). They
can connect through the VPN without a problem, but since
when they logged in, they couldn't authenticate to a
server they logged in locally. The problem is when they
try to access network resources they get a message saying
they need to log in, but they can't use their username and
password because that's what they used to log in with. Is
there a way for them to re-authenticate to a server
without logging off and back in? (logging out stops vpn,
thus not allowing them to authenticate to a server when
they log back in)

Any help and/or ideas is greatly appreciated.

you may want to create a logon script to map the resources with remote
network's logon id and password.

You could try using the "logon using a dialup connection" option on the
client, so that they do a domain login as they connect, rather than doing a
local login first.
