My FTTH line provider supports 2 PPPoE sessions on their consumer FTTH lines,
4 on their "business class" lines, and 2 on their ADSL services. I regularly
run 2 PPPoE sessions, one to my ISP, one to the line-provider's internal
network (RFC1918 space) which has some special content (on-demand video).
So multisession PPPoE support DOES exist in real-world production
environments. (In my case the line provider is the largest FTTH/ADSL
line provider in the company as well as the dominant telco.)
I personally use a multisession-PPPoE-capable router (Yamaha RTX-1000),
however I have seen guides on setting up multisession on both Linux
and FreeBSD (google is your friend).
