I've got a 256 connection and I happened to notice several of these
messages on my routers console yesterday -

Sun Sep 17 21:58:10 2006 : WARNING : ATM VC Congested : Interface -
aal5-0, PortId=7, Vpi=0, Vci=38

What does this actually mean ?

Which side of the ATM network is this occurring ?

What is a VC and what does the other information mean ?

Thanks

Daytona

if the message came back to your router I think this means its the
upstream from you to the exchange and thence to the ISP that is
congested, but I'm not certain.

A VC is a virtual circuit.
