I am using the at76c503a driver for some atmel based wifi usb adapters.
I am trying to get the adapters to work on channel 14 (Japan). The
problem is that the driver IDs it as a US model, and only allows it
to go to channel 11.
I tried changing the FCC channel definition to match that of Japan,
(0x3fff) but the adapter then won't come up at all.
I get a message repeated every second or so:
join_bss completed with 3
and iwconfig shows that it has failed to associate with the access point.
How does the driver determine the reg_domain? Is this something pulled
from the driver USB info? MAC address? How can I get this adapter to
work with the channels I need?
I'm guessing it has something to do with the firmware being loaded....
Is that right?
Thanks,
