Hi All,
I am trying to replace a WiFi link from the house to the workshop that
is currently working ok over a pair of Netgear ME102's, with
*something* that supports WPA (the 102's only handle 128 bit wep).
To that effect I picked up an Asus WL-300g AP / Router / Bridge /
Teamaker in the hope that I could make a WPA link between that (down
the workshop) and the Belkin F5D7320-4 WiFi cable router (that
supports WPA and bridging etc) in the house.
At first it didn't look like the WL-300 would do it but a download of
the latest (non beta) firmware looked promising.
At one point I *know* I had internet access at my laptop, that was
connected via some ethernet cable to the Asus and wirelessly to the
Belkin (there was no other way it could have connected), in spite of
Belkin C/S telling me that the Belkin (or any make for that matter)
router didn't support WPA in WDS mode?
So, if it comes to it (and it will actually save me having to relocate
the Belkin router) would two Asus WL-300g's give me what I'm looking
for .. a WPA protected WiFi 'bridge' (although there is only one
'remote' PC so something in 'client / game adaptor' mode would
possibly do it)?
I have emailed Asus T/S but they suggest a reply could take up to 48
hours. ;-(
All the best and thanks for your time ... ;-)

p.s. I need the remote device to support ethernet (not USB) for all
sorts of reasons .. ;-)
