AR41 resetting / anyone had problems ?

I just got an enquiry via email from someone on a mailing list i`m on
asking if i`d had any problems with my cheapo router. His was working
fine until a couple of weeks after upgrading one of his systems.

He has 3 PCs hooked up to it, and it resets when he uses IE6 (although
pretty much everything else seems ok from what he`s said) as though it
has been power-cycled or the web interface "reset" button has been
pressed.

Any thoughts ?

All I can think of is something similar to a post I made in the "Cable
modems and mac addresses" thread, where a faulty power supply was the
cause.

I've had it once or twice on the AR11, but don't recall any problems
with this happening on the AR41 (I had to reconfigure the AR11 with
the port forwarding settings last time, and switch it back from a
daft 19x.xxx IP to 10.0.0.xxx :-) Seems we are about the only
ones who acknowledge having the ARx1 units - maybe the rest think
they were too cheap to bother with :-)) (OK, the DG814 has come
down by about 25% in the past year, but still seems little extra
apart from a sleeker case, when compared with the AR41... I've
a DG814 just acting as a switch in my LAN :-) Peter M.

I use it (AR41) too, with no problems whatsoever

I use the AR41 and it works fine, never had a problem with it.

I updated the firmware to 2.7V3 which gave it a few extra feature like multiple
NAT and multiple DMZ.

I'll keep on using it till it's broke.

I've used one for 12 months now and have had no trouble at all. I was with
BTO and had problems for nearly 2 years and had 3 frog replacements plus
tons of hassle but that stopped when I got my AR41. Where did you get the
firmware u/d, please Mark? (mine's version 2.7d)

I've one which works great too. Not a problem at all during the last 6
months, got mine real cheap from ebuyer. Anyway, just to see if I'm the
only one having this 'problem' with 'Hacker attack log' and 'Incoming
log' tables not showing anything at all. I've the 'Enabled incoming and
outgoing log table' option ticked. Not really a problem but just
wondering .. it will be fun to see if my router has been targeted by
hackers etc.. btw, I'm on firmware version 2.7V2 by Bausch Datacom.

Looks interesting, especially as (having felt sure the AR41 was fine,)
I now see it rebooted about 10 hours ago. I was certainly using it at
the time, as I didn't get to bed until much later, but at least it did
not go back to factory settings. Peter M.

I'm on v2.7f on the AR41 and v2.6k on the AR11. Maybe time to look for
a new version for the latter, at least. Can anyone say if they've got
an AR11 and get detailed stats on a per-IP basis for up/downloads off
their local LAN PCs ? EG <http://www.lastname.org.uk/AR41-LAN.gif>

If IINW, both AR11 and AR41 use the same firmware.

I'm using the micronet version of the firmware SP3352.

Try here: www.micronet.info I think there is a 2.9 version available.

Mark.
