Applying Computer settings taking ages

I have recently installed Dell 755 optiplex PC's and everything that needed
to be setup working perfectly. However, when a person logs on it accepts the
password, then goes onto load the personal settings but when it comes to
applying computer settings it just sits there - does not seem to make any
difference of the size of profile, it still take too long to apply the
settings. It was actually faster on the old computers which is crazy but
true. I have checked the DNS settings and removed the alternative DNS incase
that was causing a problem but it did not make any difference.
Any ideas or does it sound like our server is having trouble with these
roaming profiles.
Help!
Hannah

Hello hannab2005,

Please post an ipconfig /all from the DC/DNS server and the client. Do you
use Group policy's for mapping, software sintallation during logon? Is the
workstation located at the same subnet or do you try to login via VPN connection?

Best regards
