applications of a 2k3 server

When running an executable of a 2k3 enterprise server i get the windows
askin to open of save the program, how do i get it so it just opens but
won't effect the likes of IE from running exe off the net ? trying to run
server based applications and gettng annoyed that it's asking me this each
time.

I understand that when you run executable applications on Windows server
2003, the system asks you open or save this program. You would like to open
this without effecting IE from programs off the internet. If I
misunderstood, please let me know.

To troubleshoot this issue, could you please provide me with more
information?

1. Does this symptom occur with only some executable software or all the
applications?

2. If you run notepad in the command window, can you receive the same
prompt?

3. To understand your issue further, you may capture a screenshot and send
it to me.

To capture a screenshot:

a. Press the 'Print Screen' key on your keyboard (it may instead appear as
'PrnScrn', or something similar)
b. Click Start->Programs->Accessories and select the Paint program.
c. In the Paint program, select the Edit menu, and then select Paste.
d. Save this file and email it to me as an attachment.

For your convenience you may send the information to me at

In addition, you may want to compare the following key with another
workable computer.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe
