My name is Jon Beverley and for the past six months I have been
involved with putting together a bid to the East of England
Development Agency (EEDA) for the Connecting Communities Completion
for an area of Norfolk around Reepham (about 15 miles north of
Norwich). I did a lot of investigation into using wireless networking
to distribute broadband internet. During this time I bought a number
of AP2000 access points to conduct some testing, with the plan that
when Reepham received some money from EEDA these access points could
be used and I would be reimbursed my money. Unfortunately for me,
Reepham was given a trigger level by BT (which we hit within 5 days of
it being set!) and EEDA gave Reepham no money for its bid. This now
leaves me with these AP2000's that I now have no use for.
The AP2000's are the same kit that Invisible Networks use and UK
Broadband recommended to us when putting together our bid. The
specifications of them can be found at
http://www.proxim.com/products/wifi/...000/index.html the
highlights of which are
- Twin 32 bit Card-Bus slots support 802.11b, 802.11a, and 802.11g
- Integral DHCP Server, NAT Address translation and V-LAN Support
- Web based, cross platform management
- Wireless Distributed Backbone (WDB) Links AP2000/AP600 units
wirelessly
- MAC Address, Radius and 802.1x security options
I bought these AP's for £463 each so I have quite a dent in my bank
balance at the moment. I would really like to cut my losses and sell
them ASAP so will consider any offers. You can email me direct on bev

Cheers
