About 3 weeks ago, i decided to opt for AOL broadband via their website -
and went through all the set up process. However I soon found out that they
don't accomodate online gaming (Ps2/Xbox)and decided the next day to use my
cooling off period and cancel.
However when i finally made contact, they had no record of my order - bit
worrying since i gave them my credit details and accepted their terms and
conditions. I tried 3 days later, still no record - so I assumed it had got
lost in cyberspace.

In the interim signed up with Tiscali - which to date I'm pleased with.

Guess what - today i received a postcard from AOL, telling me that Broadband
wasn't available in my area - hence no AOL Broadband?????? - what's going on
I ask myself - I have broadband via Tiscali.

I'm not so sure. A case maybe, of out of the frying pan and into another
frying pan.

I think you just had a narrow escape there then!

What may have happened is that your order got delayed, you got BB with
Tiscali, AOL have tried to get it for you, and the system has said "No,
you can't have it". Their system doesn't realise that you can't have it
because you're already with someone else, so they send you a generic "You
can't get broadband" letter.

Maybe. This is AOL we're talking about here.

Pete.

Heard on the news yesterday that AOL Time Warner are dropping the AOL part
of their name because it's an embarassment and they are loosing customers
fast.

The ps2/xbox situation probably doesn't help (assuming what I read was
right).

Andy.

I was on AOL dial-up before getting ADSL and AOL were beta testing ways to
make both XBOX Live! and the PS2 variant work with their software, it
involved ICS somehow.
