Is it just me, or has AOLUK gone down the pan? Slow speeds are common now,
whats going on?

I'm not a AOL user but one of my colleagues gave up with them because
they were not reliable enough to run the business. She switched to
another cheap service. It took five weeks because AOL did not want to
release the details and the new service wasn't in any hurry either.

Doesn't sound like she's terribly serious about her business!

Aol is a real pain when using it for business purposes, as by default it
routes all mail through its servers, which are heavily filtered for spam,
and create problems when using pop access, the only way around is to use a
relay server that connects on alternative to default smtp port.

She has alternative methods. Her online work is minimal and I can't
convince her hat it's the way to go!

But they are the current high volume TV advertisers so they give some
people the impression they are a good choice.

From Feb 14, Ofcom requires all ISPs to release MAC codes within 5 days
or risk of a fine of one-tenth of their turnover.

My speeds back up today, but I wonder for how long.

It's still being throttled to 75KB/s on evenings, though :-(
