As the subject line

Are AOL any good now

Their unmetered broadband is £17.99 for a 1meg service.

Do they still have no newsgroup access.

Its been a long time since their has been any posts about AOHell and I
wondered if they had got any better.

The only people you see moaning about them don't actually use them

Don't you have to install a shed load of their stuff onto your puter,
enuff to outweigh all the M$ stuff on a Windows OS?

No, you don't have to install any of the AOL bloatware on your pc to use
AOL.

I believe that if you're connecting to AOL using a router then you just set
up the router with your AOL sign on details and the router makes the
connection without needing to download the AOL browser etc, so you can just
use AOL for the connection but still use the browser of your choice.
