Looking to see if this router works with the Airport Extreme. Main system
is a USR 802.11b, but the big question is the iBook G4....

If you are asking about the MN-700, yes, it works with Airport Extreme.See
one of my blogs
http://msmvps.com/wifizone/posts/520.aspx if you want to use WPA instead of
WEP. I have an iBook G4.

Thanks. That was exactly what I was thinking.

Not used to the idea of Microsoft making routers. I don't like having to
limit the speed to 2 Mbps on my Linksys. This looks like a good
alternative.

I had problems with the mn-700 it would drop my connection daily. I went to
a 54Mbps Linksys and have not had 1 single problem since.

Interesting. Actually I use an MN-700 with two PowerBooks running MacOS
X 10.3.2.
- I have no problem connecting one laptop through WPA
- No problem connecting the two laptops through WEP
- the base station "crashes" if I try to connect the two laptops through
WPA

I had hopes when I found the firmware update for the MN-700, but it
didn't help much :-\ I ended-up staying in WEP (with MAC address
filtering).

I've read a few other more or less similar posts in the group, but it
doesn't seem to affect so many people. It still looks like a bug in the
base station to me though :-\

I don't see that issue here with one ibook with 10.3.2 and multiple XP
computers.

Good to know. Thanks for the information Barb. Are you using WPA on all

Thanks a lot Barb. I checked back the firmware version on my base
station and it indeed has the latest version. I'll have to dig deeper
into this issue.
