Anyone recently migrated from Nildram ADSL to Zen ADSL?

Were there any problems or things I should look out for if/when I
decide to do it?

Thanks

It's more expensive! And with the Nildram account you get your 500mins of
phone calls thrown in too.
I would think that the migration should be smooth, but there has been some
negative comments here about leaving Pipex.

Not knowing much about the technical side of things, I would guess that
it may be that those who provide the cheapest service might not be able
to afford so easily to buy the 'wholesale bandwidth' or 'central pipes'
or whatever the term is. So as more & more people sign up for ADSL the
cheaper ISPs might get choked up first. Doesn't the adage 'you get
what you pay for' apply to ISPs?
:-)

I'm not signed up for the phone calls thingy now so I wouldn't miss it.

Yes, that did scare me a bit!
:-(

On the other hand, should Pipex be allowed to keep its customers just
because they make it so difficult to leave??

I've no experience of migrating, but I am a Zen customer and I've found
their customer support to be excellent when I've needed to use it. They
even called me on one occasion to get something sorted out, so I'd be
fairly conident that the Zen side of things will go quite smothley.

This is interesting, because Zen is at the top of my shortlist at the
moment, if/when I decide to get broadband.

I don't think Pipex has received much praise recently.

Yes, it's this positive feedback that I've heard several times in
favour of Zen that makes me place it at the top of my shortlist.

Nildram will ask you to fill in a questionnaire and send a couple of emails
trying to get you to change your mind over a few days before giving you the
MAC code unless they've changed their system since the law altered in
February. Best to ring their accounts department once everything has been
agreed to make sure they don't carry on billing you after migrating, it's
been known more than a few times for them to do that.

I migrated to Zen but not recently and it was real smooth as I recall, the
only problem I had was not knowing my login details one 5 min phone call
sorted that out.

Like others have said you get what you pay for, yes they are more expensive
but you get a quality service with excellent support based in England and I
believe trained IT people not Indian script readers.

Check it out in the forum for yourself lots of none members ask before
joining Zen.

Oh yes, I don't work for them or have any other relationship apart from
being a customer.
