Anyone on Newnet?

I am seriously considering leaving Plusnet because of the deteriorating
service. I am a low bandwidth user (2gb a month) but don't mind paying for
a reliable service. Zen is obviously good but assumes that everyone is a
bandwidth hog and I don't see why I should pay for that.
Newnet looks like it may be the ISP for me. Has anyone had personal
experience of them, good or bad?

If you don't mind paying a little more...look at AAISP.

£22.99 for an ADSL Max service (up to 8Mb/s downstream, 400kb/s
upstream). No upstream cap, and a 2GB/month limit downstream that only
applies during weekday working hours. £18.99 for a 1GB/month limit, same
speed (remember it's not limited except weekday working hours). Reliable
and technically competent (you get to talk to real techies if you ever
need it, and they're brilliant at chasing BT).

Migration from another provider is free.

how many hours of work at the average wage is required to earn 500Rs ?

£20 here is equivalent to about 1.6 hours. Its also less than 4 times
the hourly minimum wage, if that helps put it into context,

Phil

I've heard of AAISP's reputation but this doesn't appear to be confirmed by
users' ratings on ADSLGuide. In fact they score no better than Plusnet!

Most of their users probably can't be bothered with ADSLGuide unless
they have an axe to grind! Have a look at their public newsgroup..

The current Zen offerings include ADSL Max (up to 8 Mbps) for £25 with a 20
GB cap. I think that excludes bandwidth hogs.

I joined Zen in January on a 1 Mbps connection with no cap. Large downloads
usually come in at close to 1 Mbps at whatever time of day or night. That
does not suggest that other users are limiting my connection speeds so why
worry about bandwidth hogs.

Zen are very reliable. They offer an unlimited package at 256Kb speeds for
£17.99 a month. As OC said, they have since reduced their unlimited
packages, as they are now only offering the slower speed connection or
£24.99 for up to 8Mb ADSL MAX with 20GB limit to new customers.

They are not the cheapest - but in 3 years they have never let me down, and
the customer services are top notch! Consistent high scores in any ADSL
comparison sites. They also don't tie you into stupid 12 month contracts. 1
month contracts for all customers (they know they are that good).

If you decide after a few months that the service is not worth the price,
is there a charge to migrate out?
