"A Three spokesperson said every village selected for the scheme will
have to be in a fixed broadband not-spot — an area where there is little
or no service. However, the locations will also have to fall in an area
where Three's existing mobile coverage is strong."

Perhaps Gringley on the Hill is the only place where this is true?

IIRC it is a small village just off the road from Gainsborough to Doncaster.
It is actually on the northern slope of the hill.

Three are trying to spin that their network has good coverage now....

30GB per village per month doesn't sound very generous. The good folk of
Gringley aren't going to be watching iPlayer, unless there are only three of
them. No doubt extra traffic can be bought at Three's not-exactly-cheap
standard rate.

So better than nothing, but not a substitute for even rural ADSL.
