Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to create a solution for my boss' request - The ability to track
the sites employees go to. After a bit of research I stumbled on to the Kiwi
Syslog Damon. I've since pointed my Sonicwall to the box running Kiwi and
i've got te data flowing(and i mean flowing) in.
Problem is it's pretty useless w/o a way to boil it down to what i'm looking
for.

I found Sawmill, but that's not very user friendly and hard to find what I
want.

pretty much i'd like to be able to list the employees workstation names (By
having the Ip Resolved via WINS) and being able to see what sites an employee
has been to and all the relative stats.
Also a list of the most visited sites and beig able to see a list of all the
employees that have visited it.

Anyone know of a software package that will do this? Prices?

Sonicwall has their ViewPoint software but from what i've heard is that it
only tracks the top users, not all of them and isnt' very granular as far as
reporting.

Thanks!
- Andrew

syslog is not really the best way to do this. you should implement a proxy
(either directly or through the sonicwall. The reporting is MUCH better.

Any idea how I would go about doing this? My experience with proxies are
limited.

Maybe a idiots guide to logging Corporate LANs?

Thanks!

You can use something as complex as Bluecoat or something as simple as Squid
or WinProxy. (Hint google those keywords)
