Anyone get Dlinks DI-524 WPA-PSK function to work without having
disconnects? I can get it to work but it disconnects within 30 minutes. I
have the latest firmware and judging by the other messages I've seen I don't
think the routers WPA-PSK function works yet. Rebooting my computer or
router both produce the connection working for a little but not more than 30
minutes at the most.

newbie question/response here.............
and you are using a D-Link 11g adapter for your computer?
Sounds like an issue with the TKIP causing the disconnect maybe.
What happens if you let the computer idle for 30 minutes, does it still
disconnect?
curious dave with a rarely used 524

I haven't toyed with it too much but if it idles it will be disconnected in
30 minutes. I'm using a Broadcom 11g built in wireless adapter from my
notebook. I would not blame it solely on my adapter because I have yet to
see anyone that says the DI-524 WPA-PSK function works. They just got the
WPA-PSK function supposably working in the last/second bios. Hopefully just
some bugs they will improve on in the next bios release.

On my DI-624 you have to disable DHCP and go with static IP for wpa-psk to
work. And download the wi-fi wpa patch from microsoft.

Hope I didn't speak to soon, but that seemed to fix the problem... Thanks

Funny I can make my computers all static but the DI-524 doesn't allow the
"DHCP Server" to be disabled. Still seems to work though because I guesss
nothing has a dynamic IP.

I am having the exact same problem. After setting the router (DI-524
H/W A1, F/W 1.05) and client (Atheros AR5005GS built-in) to WPA-PSK an
TKIP (and ensuring the 802.1x box is unchecked on the client), it wil
connect, but every minute or so it will get 'Windows was unable to fin
a certificate to log you on to network <SSID>', and then I ge
disconnected. As it is WPA-PSK and not just WPA, there should be n
certificates involved. It usually reconnects within a minute, but thi
is unacceptable. My OS is XP SP2, all updates applied. Al
firmware/drivers are current. I tried using static DHCP, but get th
same results. WEP works fine, and that is what I have fallen back to
along with MAC filtering. I have called D-Link tech support on this
and they basically gave me the run around, suggested I find anothe
client to test with and if it too has the same problem, to call the
back. They had me change channels and other things that shouldn'
matter. I don't think they have a clue. I have seen similar posts an
suspect that D-Link never got WPA-PSK working

Email D-Link tech support and ask for firmware revision 1.06 and see if you
can get the WPA-PSK working.
It's a beta (unreleased version) firmware, but I know it is available. I do
not know if the WPA-PSK function will work.
(I use a DWL-AG700AP from D-Link and the broadcast signal and range is great
and the WPA-PSK works great as well.
