Any Visor Deluxe Experience with Xircom's Springboard WiFi Module ?

I've got a Visor Deluxe collecting dust here, and I'm involved with
WiFi networking. I was recently reminded what Xircom sold a Visor
Springboard module that did 802.11 wireless. A google shows that it
worked OK, better than the Palm WiFi of the same period.

I decided to look for one on on Ebay. Including "completed autions",
not one of these puppies has been sold in at least 90 days, and that's
all the history ebay keeps, I think.

That's forever in ebay time. Did Xircom actually ship these in any
quantity ? Since springboard has been dead as a design for
a couple of years (right ?) I'd guess that Xircom was
ahead of it's time. It looks like Xircom/intel doesn't sell it
anymore.

Does anyone have one of these ?

I have a SprintPort 802.11 module. I like it quite a bit. Setup was
a bit annoying, lots of parameters to tweak, but that's more of a
PalmOS 3.x issue.

I mainly use it to hot sync and download news and weather via
plucker. I occasionally use Eudora and rarely use the web, I'm not
impressed by Eudora's web browser nor the one that came with the
Springport.

I tried the AIM client for a while, but it kept corrupting my memory.
:-(

Just hotsyncing couple times a day I get a month or more from the
rechargable battery in the module.

Overall I'm happy I bought it.

Thanks.

Jeff
