As regulars here will know I've been very pleased with the service
provided by Idnet but a recent offer from BE for their 'value' service
has made me consider them.

It's a 8Mbps service, as I understand it still ADSL2+ but capped at
8Mbps. For a 12 month sign up at £6.75 p.c.m. ( half the normal price )
you get 'unlimited downloads' and a free 4 port router with wireless
802.11g too. Offer ends 30th of the month so I need to make up my mind
soon. And of course, if I want to upgrade to the full speed, I should
get about 15-16 Mbps at my location ( meaning that the 8Mbps should be
rock solid ).

Your thoughts ?

Graham

There are already quite a few opinions in the thread "BE unlimited -
anygood", started on 29/10/09

It's not so much the money, It's quality of service I'm after, hence the
call for opinions.

Heck, Virgin / (NTL from hell) offered me 4 ? Mbps for £4.50 p.c.m. but
the service was so bad in the evenings that I dumped it. Luckily it was
a no cost trial (haha try telling that to the accounts dept !) so I kept
my Idnet connection over BT copper (I have 2 phone lines here), so
didn't suffer. In fact I have 2 complete NTL / Virgin cablemodems with
ancillaries here in very good nick.
