I have Demon Business Broadband, and a mix of wired and wireless devices.

To reduce energy costs I'd like to replace the Netgear DG834N router
with one that offers the following additional features:

1. 8 LAN ports instead of 4
2. A printer port and print server facility
3. Ability to filter remote access by MAC address (instead of just IP
address)
4. Wireless, ADSL
5. Gaming and as well as work use

I can't seem to find one that has all these features. Vigors have
printer ports, but they're just 4 LAN ports. LinkSys has an 8 porter,
but it doesn't have wireless nor a printer port.

I would compromise on the printer port, but I need the other features.

CISCO might have something but I don't know if that'll be kind to XBOX
usage .

Any recommendations gratefully received.

Unlikley. Use a separate switch

Common enough.. if the printer is USB.. get a networked pribter is better.

Mac addresses are not part of the IP spec, and are not propagated by it,
they are only relevant to Ethernet networks. (or other low level
networking layers)

hard to find routers without enm.

So you want QOS to boost gaming packets over boring old e-mail eh?

You are dead on the MAC filtering over the WAN port.

Frankly id say get an 8 port switch and a router that does the rest, and
forget the MAC stuff, which is impossible anyway.
