Wanadoo LiveBox encryption can cause the windows wireless utility to fall
over, it seems to simulatanously broadcast WPA and WEP encryption and
connect at the highest the wireless network device can manage, this causes
some machines to go tits up.
To solve this connect to the router (usually by going to internet explorer
and typing 192.168.0.1 in the address bar) and encyption to either wpa or
wep, not both.

The wanadoo box is actually quite secure, it uses a long randomly generated
unique key, and requires the livebox device to be temporarily activated for
pairing, making external hacking pretty much impossible.
