play.

Whois came back with:

Registrant:
Terranet Limited
Dolphin Centre
Balzan Balzan
MT

This site says:
Download Speed: 1435 kbps (179.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 188 kbps (23.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

dslzoneuk.net says:
6473 Kbps which is around 809.09 KB/s including overheads

speedtest.bbmax.co.uk says:
Download Speed: 6772 kbps (846.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 654 kbps (81.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

I guess the first one is not to be used if you're in the UK

I'm on Sky BB Max incase you're wondering!

Such as?

It used to be not so common knowledge that you could download more
quickly from a German server than you could an English one if connected
via a certain ISP. This was due to how peering was set up.

FWIW, I got a higher speed from that speedtester than I ever have from
what used to be adslguide.org (who was responsible for the stupid name
change anyway?)

Yes, & Demon's connectivity when I was with them was (?is) better with
east coast US than with European countries. However, Malta is an island
and is likely to have limited connectivity with other areas, (unless
someone decides to set up a server farm there and funds the
infrastructure?)

hmmm, dunno about that, but my whole connection has gone poo tonight.

I've rebooted this that and anything else, upset my teenager by saying
"no webcam", and said a few swear words!

I guess i'll have to wait and see what happens....
