If they were dumb/nice enough to leave their networks unsecure, I say
connect. Then browse to http://192.168.1.1 and type in admin/admin to see
what you can see ;-) Don't change anything or you're probably breaking the
law.

I see the networks both secure and non secure.

How do I connect to the ones that are not secure?

This is a newbie learning, not hacking.

Go into your network configuaration from the start menu and select the
target network.
