I'm trying to solve a problem for my brothers PC. He has an NTL cable
modem, connected to a DLink 604 4 port router (2 PC's can connect to
internet OK).

He is subscribed to a 3D virtual chat thing, where he can create personised
'rooms' that other users can visit. However, the other users are unable to
go to his rooms when the router is connected. I know this is due to a
problem with the router, as this does not occur when the router is
by-passed. The 3D website's help pages mention 'Port Forwarding' but I've
downloaded the 604 manual and can find no mention of this term.

Does it go by different names, and if so is it easy to set up?

Thanks in advance

On the 604+ (4 port Wireless)

Log into web management module.
Click on Configuration
Click on Port Redirection
Enter the Protocol, TCP or UDP
Enter the start and end ports the software uses and the IP address of
his PC.
