Does anyone know how to configure anonymous access to a Windows 2003
print server?

I have a client that has a new Windows 2003 AD Domain which has a
Windows 2003 member server configured as a print server.

Most of their workstations (600) are currently a member of an old NT
4.0 domain, however they have 300 workstations that are not members of
any domain and only log in locally to themselves (multi-user kiosk
machines)

They are in the process of converting their printing from a Novell
print server to the Windows 2003 print server, but there is a 3 month
gap between moving users to the print server and moving all the user
accounts and machines into the Windows 2003 AD.

I need these machines to be able to print to the Windows 2003 print
server, while being members of an old NT 4 domain or members of no
domian. Basically anonymous access is required to the print server.

A two way trust has been created between the domains, but I'm having
problems getting this mix of workstations to sucessfully access the
Windows 2003 print server. Members of the Windows 2003 can print fine.
Members of the NT 4.0 domain or members that have no domain membership
can only print after authentication to the Windows 2003 domain.

How do I configure anonymous access to the print shares on the Windows
2003 print server so these users do not need to authenticate?

I have enabled the following local policy on my print server and forced
an update to no avail:

Network Access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users

Any help in this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Steve

have you tried setting the printer permission to everyone: print?? then
setting it up as a std shared printer?? Not sure if this is what you are
looking for but
