Hello -
I have an old laptop and docking station running w95.
I would like to upgrade it to W98 and install a network LAN card
There is a floppy drive in the docking station and a HD on the laptop.
No CD drive.
There are no IDE connections on the docking station - but there are 2 PCI
slots.
I am currently in a catch22 - unable to load any PCI cards and drivers
because most are supplied today with CD based drivers.
Are network LAN drivers available from Manufacturers that will fit on a
floppy - or are they too large to fit?
Can I strip off the necessary drivers from a CD (on another system) and
transfer them to floppy?
1) I'd like to installed the lan card and load drivers from floppy
2) Establish Network connection on W95
3) Update to W98 using network CD drive
4) Access internet via network surfboard router
5) Install USB PCI card and install drivers via network cd drive
Appreciate any suggestions or pointers - what mfg would be a good card that
would have drivers that might meet my needs...
