Amplifying the signal of a WAP54G - Accessing the Internet using the office link

Hello all,

We have a WAP54G Linksysys WAP set up here at work, and I was wondering
what would be the best (if any) way to amplyfying its signal so that I
could connect, through it, from my apartment.

The apartment is located 800m from the office building. There are a few
buildings along the path of a straighline from office to my place.

I was thinking of trying out this Linksys expander, by placing it in a
friend's aparetment (who's building is in middle of the way towards
home), thus making the signal stronger and making it reach home.

Do you think this would work? Is there any other better way to
achieving this?
Using dialup to conenct to the Net sucks - and being able to simply
connect through the Office link means that I 'd be able to stay online
all day long, for free. Too good of a thing to miss.

No DSL/cable access from your apartment location? Those "few buildings" are
probably reinforced concrete--very difficult to get through.
