Just as for ADSL, there is a line length limitation for ISDN - though not as
severe.

The 3% probably live way out in the sticks - miles from the nearest
exchange.

Just one example of somehere in England would be interesting to know.
Everywhere I go seems to be wall to wall urbanisation.

Couple of years ago, my engineers next job was a sheep farmer on Exmoor -
apparently the teletubbies on the desks had taken the order without checking
the line. If memory serves it was something like 5Km of pole across the
moor excluding the run from the exchange. As BT had taken the order, he had
to fit somethink like a ?MUX at the exchange and one in the farm. I gather
it was a lot of phaf and quite expensive. The engineer was not happy....
