as to why they don't state that Usenet is available on the cheaper
packages.
http://www.telewest.co.uk/websales/service.do?id=2

"No, it's not a typo. It's available to customers on all 3 tiers of
service, it's just not advertised as a visible service to the other
tiers as largely it's a service demanded by those on the top tier."

LOL!

"Compared to the volume of calls we'd get to ask "what are newsgroups"
vs the incremental sales impact of those interested, it'd likely not
be practical. In the majority users on lower broadband tiers are not
usenet users, nor is it going to be a selling point for them"

WHAT A LOAD OF!
It's not practical to list it in the 'Benefits' part on that page,
because they might get loads of calls askin "what are newsgroups" along
with the question of "what is da intanet" no doubt...
"It's not a selling point"
In the way of, if you list that it's available on all packages and not
just the most expensive one, they'll probly buy the cheaper one, you
mean?

As Telewest's/blueyonder's spokesman, you can do better than to snip all
of it, and actually answer instead?

Why don't you answer the question ? Why does it specifically mention
usenet access on the Elite package only as a benefit ?

You should list the services available to all packages under one
banner, and the extras separately for each package.

If punters want to ask what newsgroups are - put it in a FAQ. Surely
you're not naive enough to assume that only punters requiring the
Elite package knows what usenet it ?

Maybe that's actually nearer the truth than you might imagine. Perhaps you
have some genuine demographic breakdown of the Telewest customer base you'd
like to share with us rather than just your misguided opinions?

Bill

This one:

"In the way of, if you list that it's available on all packages and not
just the most expensive one, they'll probly buy the cheaper one, you
mean?"

for starters.
