We are running window 2003 server and I have been asked to send a message
over all the network, to the staffs desktops announcing special events,
awards etc is there a way to do this, as a popup like in messenger when
someone logs in you get the alert in the task bar in the right corner. Do not
want to do this through an email or messenger!! Any sugestions would be great
thanks!!!

Hi Jaw,

You will also need to set the "Messenger" service on all clients to
Automatic startup and start the service. The Net Send command will do the
trick as Mike already said. Just bringing that to your attention - it is
mentiond in the article but easy to miss. :-)
Also, this pops up center-screen topmost in the window z order and can annoy
users. I would discuss that with those wanting this implemented. I would
only use net send for urgent messages like "Fire in the building" or "Boss
is back" ;-).

The While-You-Were-Out program you always wanted.
Stop using those paper phone message pads
make the computer work for you.
