Want to connect a airport extreme on a mac to my network, will it work with
a MN-500 or 700.

If the airport card is a g will it still run with a MN 500.

Yes it will. All "g" cards that conform to the standard are backward
compatible. I have an ExtremeG card here and it is interoperable with
all of my routers and base stations.
