Airport Express and BT Broadband

Hi,

Does anybody know whether the cool Airport Express basestation
(http://www.apple.com/uk/airportexpress/) announced by Apple yesterday
would be compatible with BT Broadband?

It doesn't have anything to do with broadband. It's just a WiFi bridge as
far as the network's concerned.

Hmmm, sorry if I'm being completely slow here but the Apple site
mentions that "Some ISPs are not currently compatible with AirPort
Express and AirPort Extreme."

If it's a WiFi bridge (gateway or access point) will it infact work
with any wired connection, albeit broadband or LAN...? So if purchased
with a compatible wireless card with my Pc I would have wireless
internet access.

It'll work with any WiFi network.

It's actually an access point, but it seems to be able to act as a
wireless client too, so if you don't already have wireless you can plug
an ethernet cable in and use it as an access point. I'm assuming they
they mean the likes of AOL who don't (officially) support routers.

Yes, that should work. Looking at the tech specs for it
(http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/specs.html), it seems to be just an
access point that can also be a bridge.

There's some pretty comprehensive documentation on the Apple site - how to
turn off routing, NAT etc.

It's a nice idea really, and I would get one if I wasn't for two things:

1. No interface on when you're playing remotely
2. I keep all my ripped AACs on a lower power consumption Linux server [1]

[1] 500Mhz C3 CPU, 256MB RAM, 80GB Seagate HD - probably less than 30W.
Just how much power does a G4 iMac use?
