Hi all,

did anybody ever try to install the linux airjack drivers (
http://sourceforge.net/projects/airjack/ ) without a PCMCIA wireless
card? Does that work in any way? I've got a PCI card with PRISM chipset
and hostap drivers. And I need the airjack drivers and devices (aj0 ...)
for my diploma thesis. As far as I know it will only work with PCMCIA
devices, but is there some kind of workaround to get it running on PCI
cards? I've got the airjack driver installed and the module loaded
(airjack_cs). But I've got no aj devices...

Any help is appreciated.

Tobias.

quite sure that airjack does not check if the card is pcmcia or true
pci. but I dont know for sure. If you have any source for your
suspicion, I would be interested to hear.

If you are really stuck to a pcmcia-card, you can buy a pcmcia-adapter
for your desktopmachine.

If I'm right you could try the auditor live-cd which comes with airjack
preinstalled in a very usable way. since you write a thesis about it,
this is a very interesting compilation anyway. as far as i remember its
knoppixbased.

best,
peter

I just can't get pcmcia-cs running without a PCMCIA card or adapter. And
as far as I know, the aj devices will only be created, when cardmgr is
running.

I've just tried Auditor 200605-02-ipw2100 and did not find airjack on
it. It's even not in the Contents list -
http://www.remote-exploit.org/index.php/Auditor_tools

Now I'm trying to get a PCMCIA-PCI Adapter and PCMCIA WLAN Card.
Adapter with Ricoh chip should work fine on Linux, right?
And Allnet 0192 has a Prism Chipset and should also work fine with
hostap drivers, right?

Thanks, Tobias.
