Air magnet client for the laptop looks ideal for protecting your laptop
from hackers at a hotspot. Could not find out what OS it works on , and
the price.

This is the first time I heard such a product from Airmanget.
Airmagnet Laptop sits on your laptop and scans your Wi-Fi network for any
external and rogue wireless devices.
It installs on any Windows 2K and XP laptops.

From what I've seen of the PocketPC version, this is an enterprise-class
tool for WLAN analysis and not a "client to protect your laptop". Pricing
in the $3000+ range and requires a specially modified Cisco Aironet card
only available from AirMagnet (presumably to defeat software pirates posting
the software all over the place)

Yea, the AirMagment is a security tool...it does not necessarily sit
on your box and protect your wi-fi access.

I've hear that now, instead of coming with a special card, AirMagnet
"burns" some code into your wireless NIC
