Hi

Does anyone have some good links on setting up two NICs on one Windows
2003 server to act as a single link, balancing the load and increasing
the through-put to a theoretical 200Mb/s?

Thanks
James

Are you talking about NIC teaming? This link has how to and case study.

Network adapter teaming

Introduction
How to setup NIC team on a HP ProLiant DL 380 for fault tolerance and Load Balance

Introduction

NIC teaming is the process of grouping together several physical NICs into one single logical NIC, which can be used for network fault tolerance and transmit load balance. The process of grouping NICs is called teaming. Teaming has two purposes...

FYI but its not just a matter of only teaming nics. Your backbone switch has
to support one of the adapter teaming standards. This will not work with a
unmanaged switch.

PS. 100mb at full duplex is 200mbps which means teamed you get 400mbps
bandwidth.

Thanks Bob, thats exactly what I'm talking about. My question is, can
this be done on any adapters in 2003 or is this a driver-level option
only?

Greetings,

Some network cards will allow you to bind the cards through their software
which would most likely give you the results your looking for. Otherwise you
will need a managed switch as mentioned by Josh (also my opinion, this is
the better way to go).

Hope this helps
