OK, I've burned a good number of hours and muttered the foulest language you
can imagine trying to get my Linksys WMP11 wireless card running on my Dell
Optiplex. No matter what I tried the card doesn't want to seem to recognize
the loadable 'hermes' modules that came with my Debian Woody distribution.
So then I boldy tried compiling the linux-wlan-ng driver only to learn that
I can't load the module because I compiled it against a 2.4.18 kernel source
and not the Debian-specific 2.4.18-b2.4 kernel I actually have (and which
there seems no way to get the source code to).

So before I proceed any further, I just want to know: has anyone else out
there gotten a Linksys wireless PCI card to run on a Dell Optiplex GXa? I
just need to know if it's possible. I'm worried that there is some weird
architecture going on with the PCI bus that is going to make my effort
futile.

Thanks.

The hermes module will not work with WMP11 v4. Nothing that exists on
your current system will work.

Did you try the link I included in response to your previous post? Here
it is a second time:

http://www.linuxvoodoo.com/resources/howtos/linksysv4/

I will try and muster sympathy if you try it and it does not work, the
advice part has already been given.

Jeff
