Am I mistaken in assuming an ADSL2+ router can be used to pick up a standard
ADSL signal?

I have an Edimax AR-7064+

http://www.edimax.com/en/produce_det...id=2&pl2_id=11

Compatible with all leading DSLAMs, Supports DMT modulation and demodulation,
Support ITU-T G.992.1 G.992.3, G.992.4, G.992.5 Annex A & T1.413 Issue 2 for
Annex A
G.992.1 (G.dmt) : Downstream and upstream data rates up to 8Mbps and 1Mbps
G.992.2 (G.Lite) : Downstream and upstream data rates up to 1.5Mbps and 512Kbps
G.992.3 / G.992.4 (ADSL2) : Downstream and upstream data rates up to 12Mbps and
1Mbps
G.992.5 (ADSL2+) : Downstream and upstream data rates up to 24Mbps and 2Mbps

No shortage of compatability there ! G.dmt is the one you're interested in.

Graham
