I recommend contacting your ADSL provider for help. They know how to
set up a computer to use their service.
We in this newsgroup don't know anything about your ADSL service, how
you set it up on XP, or how you tried to set it up on 98.
XP has built-in support for PPPoE, but 98 doesn't. If your ADSL
service uses PPPoE, you'll have to install client software, such as
RASPPPoE, on 98. It's available at
http://www.raspppoe.com
