Hi

Just casting a net to see if there are other people in the same boat as me.
2 MB Datastream connection with Nildram in Aylesbury, around 3 km from
exchange by line length that I rememberthat has been working fine for the
past 3 months suddenly decided 3 days ago to go flaky. My connection stats
show multiple connection attempts every hour due to port error or line
faults, only since 11 am Sunday 14th of Sept. Line loss is now 48 :-( and
SNR is 18 though goes to 8 intermittently as shown when the engineer turned
up to test it yesterday. He also mentioned that I was the third person this
week who he had been out to with a similar problem, on various ISP's which
leads me to believe that one of BT's changes of network architecture locally
must have loused this up.
The other person I know of was on Bulldog.

I am gathering ammunition to use just in case BT bleat on about how my line
is out of range and try to cease it instead of actually finding out what is
wrong.

So if you live in the region and have had similar problems please get in
touch.

S. Althaf

I've heard of BT doing that no end of times, they came here to fix a 2meg
ADSL that had been working perfectly for 7 months, even though I had SYNC
and no line errors the line was very slow with loads of packet loss.

SNR and Attenuation were within limits, the engineer still ceased the line
because he couldnt find anything wrong.

6 weeks later (after getting another 2meg on a new line) we managed to get
the service back on the same line and its been ok since.
