Dear all,

Does anyone know about any tool to measure the speed of an ADSL line?

Cheers, Patrick

For connection speed, the modem management console should indicate it.
For actual traffic that can be sustained, find a fast local site
(preferably one on your ISP's own network) and download a bulky file.

www.adslguide.org has a test facility, used to compare ISPs.

I have used the tkpppoe interface for rp-pppoe which displays and graphs
download/upload, but uses cpu resources, so I use kernel pppoe (which
uses no noticeable cpu time).

Some of the ISPs here in the states have test sites for both
download/upload speeds. But you would probably want to find something
closer to home (europe), or a nearby ftp site where you can download a
large file.

Note that maximum pppoe speed is about 85% of sync speed due to overhead.
